Structural Engineer (Randstad)

Responsibilities
    Analyse and prepare project specifications for construction, conversion and modification of vessels, lifting appliances, stingers and pipelay equipment in co-operation with other departments
    Prepare design calculations (and reports) for all structural design work within scope, budget and schedule
    Identify the risks and consequences of the vessel or equipment related to the strength/ stability/safety/class approval, etc.
    Perform detailed calculations using FEM analysis
    Prepare plans and procedures for the installation and inspection of equipment and discuss these procedures with the project team and the offshore personnel responsible for the execution
    You are creative and stress-resistant, takes initiative and have analytic skills
    You will report to your Department Head and will liaise with project teams, subcontractors, crew, clients and certification authorities

Requirements
    BSc or MSc degree in Mechanical, Civil or Aerospace Engineering
    1-3 years’ relevant work experience
    Able to work well in a high pressure environment
    Self-starter with creative and analytical skills
    Good command of the English language, both written and spoken
    Willingness to work offshore occasionally
